This appears to be the original (or at least a very old) doorbell, or maybe some kind of "dinner's ready" kitchen bell or something.. It's painted shut so we couldn't ring it, and no clue if it's hooked up to anything anymore. Will have to play with it. :) Also shown, the cabinet above the refrigerator space, which is going to have to go as refrigerators are taller now than they were back then apparently.
